I just did a research on comcast.You lose espn,tnt,mtv,vh-1,SYFY.You get usa,spike,Tru tv.Now thats with comcast on a story I found from 2009.

Here are the channels i would offer in an economy package:

A&E
ABC Family
BET
Catholic TV
CNN
Comcast SportsNet New England
Cspan
Cspan 2
Cspan 3
Discovery Channel
Disney
E! Entertainment Television
Fox News
FX
GSN
Hallmark Channel
Headline News
HSN
Lifetime
MTV
New England Cable News
New England Sports Network
Nickelodeon
SPIKE TV
SyFy
TBS
TNT
Travel Channel
Trinity
TV Guide Network
TV Land
USA NETWORK
VH1
WGN America

YES I DID include the local RSNs

I dunno... RSN's command a lot of $$$. In fact, that's one of the things deterring potential non-sports-fan cable subscribers in the first place.

I tried the ecomy package for an hour.Flipped back imediatly.

Cox offers locals both ota and sub channels, discovery, nick,cn,tru, usa, travel, cnn not headline, fox news.

no sports channels,no mtv networks execpt nick.

At a 25 month promotion sounded like a good deal for a year but too much of a haircut when I noticed SPIKE and SYFY were not part of the package.

To me, these "starter pack" deals offer little in terms of value.
It seems like an attempt to upsell you to a higher level package.

Again, it seems like cable companies don't get it. I think that people are tired of having their bills go up each year, while at the same time receiving nothing of value in return. But, what choice do you really have?
