Cox sells off WFOX calls

Looks like the chances of WFOX coming back to ATL are fading fast...

The WFOX calls are on a rock station in the Connecticut cluster being sold, which is where Cox moved them post-River/WSRV.

I agree. I'm surprised that Cox didn't park the calls on a station that they are not selling for that reason...unless they are getting a premium for the calls in the sale.

Cox has a Fox TV affiliate (WAWS) in Jax, and they also have a KFOX in El Paso. Why not swap the calls with WOKV or WFYV and then put it on the TV station?

big ? yet is . Why is Cox Media Group selling off the number one black Hip Hop stations in Birmingham Al , and in Greenvillie SC market . Why oh why would they ?

Cox wants to only own radio stations where it owns TV stations or newspapers too. If my memory is correct, Cox only owns radio stations in the Birmingham Al, and in Greenville SC markets. They are selling Louisville, Richmond and Hawaii markets where they do not own TV stations also.

Has nothing to do with the sale. They want to be in markets where they can promote TV on radio and radio on TV.
