Cox Tampa HD2 changes.

Cox has made some changes to their HD2 channels I really like. 97X has moved from 102.5 HD 2 to 101.5 HD2. 101.5 did not have an HD2 channel until now. That still puts 97X into southern Sarasota County on the 101.5 HD2. "Trippin 102.5 HD2" has returned to 102.5 HD2. I really like that channel. Maybe I'll get to hear the long version of Iron Butterfly "In-a-gadda-da-vida" again. :) The Bone is still on 97.1 HD2 out of Holiday.

These changes make sense. And good to get Trippin' back. I hope the MD has tweaked or seasoned up the playlist since I last listened. It was starting to get a little too predictable. :)

I wonder if these changes have anything to do with 97.1's impending divestiture....

Maybe better full-market coverage if 101.5 HD2 becomes 97X's new sole frequency?

I noticed it yesterday when I was in Orlando. Good thing 101.5-HD2 can reach up to Orlando though... 101.5 had no HD2 subchannel prior, and they previously had a Dance format there...

I wonder if having Trippin back by 50th Anniversary of Woodstock was the target...
Max would be proud.

In any rate, the HDs are sooo underused. Especially from the Riverview stations.

And placing the 97x on 101.5-2 must have been a sale of the license of WSUN only.

Intellectually must have remained a property of Cox, which means they must have other plans for it.

What contracts are ending soon?

And iHeart is airing the Bucs are being aired on 97.9-1, again, which means that format is gone during the time. A great time for rock fans to sample the dial during blowouts with a first year coach.

Jeff in Sa-ra-so-ta!
