Cox to go private

Smart move, IF they have the cash to do it without pulling it out of existing operations.

Not a bad deal for the Cox family. The initial offering years ago was for the low $20's I'm thinking.
It seems like more of this would be going on with the share prices so incredibly low.
Would any of you buy shares at $4 - do you think we'll be back at $20-30 in a year or two?( I think radio stocks will rebound in a big way - not sure when)
Who's in, who's out, and who's just watchin'......?

As of now, the stock is up 21.82%. With a stock as cheap as this, someone could make a small fortune off this.

No surprise. This had been rumored for months. I expected the bad economy might have given them the go ahead.

Cox Radio would be under the Cox Media Group umbrella (which includes TV and Internet operations). WSB-AM/FM and the others would be under the same legal umbrella with WSB-TV for the first time since the late 90's.

One question - What About Bob (Neil)? I am assuming he will stay on as President of the radio division, but not with a CEO title.

It is interesting that the CEO of Cox Radio is not quoted in any of the news releases about Cox Radio going private. Jimmy Hayes is the one who is quoted. Read those Cox radio tea leaves.

Why would the Cox sister-hag deep six Boy Bob and the teddies??
Bob Neil has steered that group very well and has the Midas touch with programming......it would be a huge mistake to cut him loose.
It would be very surprising if they made that blunder but these days nothing surprises me anymore.......

Not suggesting that would happen.

There is a big political greyscale between status quo and Bob leaving.

Doesn't anyone else think it odd that all other Cox Radio press releases about something at this level included Bob Neil, but he declined to comment on this one?
