I sure hope Coyote and Cathy didn’t donate to the Steve Dickert gift fund. Now if Coyote donated money did Steve and Al return it as they were firing him in his living room.. Who gets fired in their own living room anyway?

I wonder of Bob and Tom are getting John Dickey a gift since he put this really great idea together. What did Dickey promise premiere radio in order to get them to drop Bob and Tom from 102.9 after 9 loyal years? Maybe more stations in other cumulus markets?

Speaking of 102.9 I’ve noticed the new morning show isn’t Jake Wylde. I bring this up because I’ve noticed over the past few weeks Jake himself “obviously under various screen names” applying for the job. We were all hoping you’d get that job and take #8 with you. See ya on the smoking deck.

What did Dickey promise premiere radio in order to get them to drop Bob and Tom from 102.9 after 9 loyal years? Maybe more stations in other cumulus markets?

My understanding is that it's the classic corporate-wide deal, where the corporation promises the syndicator a certain number of clearances in a certain number of markets for exclusivisity of the program in markets where the corporation has properties and in which the program airs. (But then you know that if you're really an insider.) That deal was made well over the local managers' heads. With this kind of deal, the corporation may end up telling one of their clusters they have to take the program whether they really want it or not, and make room for it, whether they want to or not. Why we have Jim Rome here is a good example.

Opsmgr,

I have made no secret to anyone inside or outside of the building that I would rather do something other than monkey a board for 7 hours. Therefore, I have no reason to post, as you do, under various screen names. And by the use of the phrase "see you on the smoke deck", you either drive by the station multiple times a day to see us there, or you work in the building and are out there with us. That means you know me and probably don't like me too much, as some folks, and find it your duty to imply that I am posting nameless to avoid Management from getting suspicious.

You are the one posting inner-office memos that are made for our eyes only and you down talk the company to those outside of the company. Everything negative I've said about anyone or anything, I've taken the shot for. To bang on the company namelessly is quite cowardly.

So the next time you are out there on the smoke deck chatting it up and laughing at my jokes, even when you don't find them funny, have the fortitude to tell me you are "Opsmgr". You're taking Cumulus' money, the least you can do is take credit.

Please folks, Get off Steve Dickert's butt about this. I honestly believe if it was left up to Steve, this wouldn't have happen. Blame John and Lew Dickey for all of this. I don't trust the Dickeys at all. They have lied to me in the past!
