As you well know, it's not just here, it's EVERYWHERE!!!
There is nothing more frustrating than doing a remote from a car dealership trying to get people in to buy things that you can't afford. It's been that way since day one and it's not changing. Sure there are jocks who do well financially, but take a good look at the market. I would say maybe 10%---the rest are around or below poverty level. As I said, I've worked in every part of the country (even Las Vegas in the late 70's ear;y 80's) and it's the same everywhere.
Ours is a vanity business....as Rick Phalen (former KLUC owner) once told me "You don't like the money, tough---there's 30 guys outside who do."

Wow, this is some of the worst stuff I've seen directed to one person on these boards. Most of you have harsh words to say to this guy. The guy was just expressing his opinion! I don't see anything wrong with that. I will say though, that it is unfair for LVradio to already judge someone that hasn't been on the air for long.

This Terri person may be an amazing and heritage radio personality, but it is ok if someone isn't that amazed about her.

This is a discussion board and EVERYONE is allowed to voice their own opinion. If you disagree with the poster (like many do in this case), then tell you disagree, but are the harsh words and attacks really necessary?

Geez, I'm gone for three weeks and I come back to this.

I had the same reaction to Terri when I first heard her. She sounded like she didn't know what she was talking about. I couldn't tell if she was just reading cards or simply lacking in personality. After listening for several weeks, I don't hear any improvement. She may be a very nice person, but she certainly sounds weak on the radio as was observed earlier in this thread.

To beat an established competitor, even a lame one like KWNR, you have to generate excitement. You have to have flair. You have to sound bigger than life. I hear none of that on KCYE.

Mercedes and red neck attitude, I nearly hit him
once, when he went on a tirade like he was some
tough guy, and I was just a kid jock.

but LVradiovet reminds me of every third string
weekender that backstabbed and gossiped about
actual talent.
