CP for WBBQ 104.3

I just noticed on radio-locator.com a CP that was granted last month for the Augusta CC station WBBQ 104.3 FM. It will shift it's signal further east and south. It puts an even better signal into the Columbia metro with the upgrade.

Probably done for coverage protection issues or to block someone else's upgrade. They can't move too much closer because of WNOK and 104.7 Charlotte.

Looked at it again. Looks like the engineering was done to throw a much larger area under their primary contour, not to try to serve the Columbia Metro. Clear Channel owns almost all the adjacent channel stations - WRFQ 104.5, WNOK 104.7 and WBBQ 104.3

Columbia coverage probably isn't the issue. The CP appears to put it at the same site as co-owned WEKL 105.7, allowing Clear Channel to house the two high-power FM stations together. This looks like the same general area as the TV stations (Beech Island), so maybe there's better line of sight to the metro area. Any issues with the current 104.3 signal such as multipath or poor building penetration?

If WBBQ Moves further south,
maybe WQNQ in Asheville could upgrade their signal just a bit.
I wish I could hear them here in the Upstate.

WBBQ is often affected by tropo here
and it even messes with W282AX (WZZQ) on 104.3 just 5 miles away from me.
Before that translator went on the air, BBQ used to come in static-free almost half the year at night.

If I go north in Greenville county, sometimes I can get Star 104.3....I like them a lot more than B93.7. A stronger signal would be nice. Would be nice to hear Sue Myers again. BBQ puts out such a strong signal and is such a boring station - hopefully with their downgrade, the signal will lose some of its fight in Greenville county and I could receive WQNQ better in some areas.

I am in Asheville, WQNQ is a great CHR station. Since the flip Josh Michael and Sue Myers are doing a great job in the morning. They are both involved in the local community. It would be nice for them to have a stronger signal.

I think it'd be a great move if 104.3 in Asheville did an easy swap with 102.5 or 99.9
and compete with B93.7 & Hot 98.1 in the Greenville market, I know they'd get great ratings here.
