Chuck Harder was granted 50KW Day and 250Watts night on 660Khz for WHite Springs, FLAlso, back in February, WFVR Valdosta Georgia was granted a move into Wellborn Florida with 35KW Day and 5KW Night.Did I mention how many towers each of these two stations will have to put up? AT LEAST 7, depending on their patterns!

The WFVR move into Florida has been in the works for nearly a decade now. That's why it's such a surprise that the FCC has finally granted it. Bureaucracy moves very slow, doesn't it?

Is that Valdosta station still owned by Rama Communications (they really Rama it to ya, is probably the operating philosophy, ask -anyone- who has been on the payroll especially the techs).Given the condition of thier other station facilities and compliance issues documented on fcc.gov, I wonder where they would raise the capital to buildout the move of 910 AM to Wellborn, FL. Perhaps under a different company... makes me wonder. I think the phasor for 910 is sitting as scrap in the 1300 WTIR generator room.Good luck; don't let the CP lapse.Skinny AL in the cheap seats

Rocky:Yes, WFVR is still owned by Rama.I can also vouch as a former "GM" of their Cocoa Beach station. They take the cake, and even make Bishop Willis look good. Their constat disregard and lake of care concerning Federally Imposed regulations, laws and fines meant nothing to them.WFVR is back on the air! It's running oldies, as "Radio Free Valdosta being programmed and voiced by Dave Solomon of Myrtle Beach, from whom Rama Communications bought WZFB in Fair Bluff, NC. Dave, good luck, I hope you get paid, unlike me. Letting the CP lapse? Hmm, good one.

Rocky:Refresh my memory, weren't you and another engineer there with me at WTIR one afternoon looking at the MW-5 in the shed outside the WTIR Studios in Cocoa? That was the MW5 that was at WFVR!

Is WFVR still on the air?I've been very close to Valdosta several times in the past couple of weeks,at 910 all I get is static.

There wer eo nthe air about 2 or 3 months ago, but knowing Rama.. and the shitty way they do business.. i wouldnt be surprised if it stayed on long enough to certify it was on the air then turn it back off and get a new STA to go silent, again. They wer eobviously o nthe air ill-legally. The lost the 4 tower site 2 years ago and to be on the air, theyd need an STA for reduce power day and none at night. .which they didn't have.I don't have ANY sympathy for Rama Communications. Not only did one of the world's best engineers die due in part to their overworking of him.. but because of their horrible mis management and disregard for FCC law.. i can share specific examples if someone wants..

It could be on the air,but no where near 5 kw.At the authorized 5kw.WFVR had a listenable signal of at least 70 miles in all directions on a decent car radio_Out of curiousity,Paul, how did they loose the tower site, and what kind of tower are they using now?

They lost the tower site due to Rama Communications president Kris persaud letting the lease expire.last I knew, they were running off a longwire thru a hotel parking lot along the highway.
