CPB to cease operations

Thank you for the spelling correction. As for the "Steve" part, the article says that Connie is, in fact, the wife of Steve Ballmer, who was, if memory serves, the COO(or was it CFO) for Microsoft in the past.
I was making a larger point beyond the spelling of her last name.

The point was/is that people in general deserve to be called by their name and not just “(person’s name)’s wife/husband/partner”.
 
Republicans in congress are looking to restore funding to some public radio stations. Some are finding that CPB funding is a campaign issue. Democrats are reminding voters who is responsible for local people losing their jobs:


There are enough repubs in favor of returning funding that if they had voted against the clawback, it would not have passed.

They thought they were voting to cut funding to NPR & PBS. Now they've realized they actually cut funding to their own states.
