Crackle noise (DURING THE DAY)

Can anyone explain to me what that crackle noise is, that I hear in my signal during the day, I dont have this problem at night. Also, I got 11 miles coverage last night on 1660 a.m. But now, I only get 2 miles, before the enigine noise in the car kills it. I thought a.m Part 15 went farther during the day. Using a used Rangemaster BTW....
