Craig Cornett officially resigns

This morning, Craig Cornett proffered his resignation, citing his dad's terminal cancer. He's been off air for several weeks already, with Kristen Gates and Jim Vann & Jill Kelly covering.

More cynical observers think Craig (who came from the Bull in St. Louis) & Kicks did not fit, that this was a dignified way for him to leave. He certainly wasn't around long enough for anything to gel -- barely six months.

Kicks is going to post the job and see what comes of it, said PD Mark Richards. “It’s too bad with his dad’s situation. He was just not able to come back. He wants to be with his dad. We as a company understand and tried to find a way for him to get back. He just couldn’t do that.”

Speculate as you will... Say what you will... I never heard his show, or met him. However, it seems to me you must respect a man who puts family first, regardless of how it affects his career!

I agree wholeheartedly. I haven't had the chance to listen to his show either since I haven't been home very much since he took over, but it speaks volumes about Craig as a man for what he is doing.

I'm very sorry to hear about his father's terminal cancer, and I will keep Craig, his father, and their entire family in my thoughts and prayers.
