Craig Ferguson at night

Craig Ferguson is easily the funniest and most entertaining late night tv host on the air, period. Conan, if he could shake the chains a bit, is just behind him.

Craig's monologues at times are sheer genius...so good I wish I could collect the best ones and watch them over & over. Jimmy Kimmel is close behind. Conan isn't even in my top 10, and I really doubt he'll get another chance.

Ferguson is really good. Quick on his feet and doesn't even appear to have a written monolouge. He just speaks off the cuff and it's funny! Definitely works for him.

I wish the host would not frequently use vulgar words in his monologues and interviews. He can be funny and interesting without them and the sound effects used to censor him ("ooh la la!") make me want to change the channel.

I remember Craig Ferguson's interview with Patti Hall, the director of the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo in Gulf Shores, and her promoting a short TV series on Animal Planet titled "The Little Zoo That Could" and the host said a censored (beep) expletive to his guest. The interview was of local interest, since the zoo was across Mobile Bay and received a lot of attention by the TV stations in Mobile after recent hurricanes. I recorded the interview unaware of what was going to happen.

Craig's the best in late night.

I really like his style and I'm a big fan of Wavy Crocodile.

Also, I think Shadoe Stevens is the best announcer in late night TV.

Shadoe is great! Ever since his days on Hollywood Squares. Almost 25 years already. Still is awsome!

Couldn't agree more....Craig is fantastic!!! I know there's rumors he might one day replace David Letterman, but I think we've had enough late night TV host drama for a while :)

And Shadoe was awesome as a local LA Top 40 (and later album rock) disc jockey in Los Angeles...starting about 40 years ago. And long time West Coast TV viewers all remember Fred Rated.

Actually, Craig has said when Dave leaves so does he. He wants to produce and direct and write screenplays. The Late Late Show is just a place where he can vent and be silly and get paid for it.

Or maybe he's just being coy and downplaying the offer. Personally, the show works because of it's lower budget and Craig's "I can do and say whatever the Hell I want" attitude.

Conan will have another chance. His monologues aren't good, but the rest of the show has the potential to be great if Conan can relax and be himself. He really hadn't found his stride at 11:35 yet. You don't host a successful show for 17 years without "getting another chance." Just ask Leno.

That being said, Craig is an AMAZING host and his monologues are worthy of watching live, and then again online the next day. Always funny.
