Dan Snyder is the incendiary owner of five DC area radio stations plus stations in Virginia Beach, Richmond and Roanoke. He also was kicked off the board of Six Flags after questionable actions caused the stock price to plummet (Bill Gates, alone, reportedly lost $121-million). Even more flagrant actions as owner of the Redskins football team make George Steinbrenner look like Fred Rogers.
Now he has hired some big-time (and big expense) lawyers to beat a small DC weekly throw-away alternative newspaper (Washington City Paper) back into bankruptcy. Officially Snyder is claiming to sue the paper for libel. He knows he can't win but he states outright the paper can't afford the legal costs of fighting his law suit. Maybe he just sees this little newspaper as a threat to his media empire?
Instead of quashing the article, Snyder has got people talking about it.
Read all about how Dan sued a 73 year old grandmother who fell on hard times and couldn't keep up her seat contract payments. Read how Dan confiscated fans' season tickets after they tried to sell tickets to game they couldn't see on e-Bay. Read how Dan sold fans stale peanuts bought at an airline going out of business sale. Read how he bought off so-called local "journalists" who cover his team. Read how Dan sold beer in the stadium johns (saving steps since everyone knows you don't buy beer, you only rent it). Read how he stiffed employees and then fired them when they asked for the money owned them. Read more, much more....

And City Paper has started its own legal defense fund.
Synder isn't different from a lot of station owners.

An article in November in the Washington City Paper ridiculed Daniel M. Snyder, the owner of the Redskins, and his response was to bring in the lawyers
