Craving a Captain Humble Po-Boy

Ladies and gentlemen, I believe we "Ol' pharts" these young whipper-snappers speak of on this board are overdue for another Captain Humble Po-boy get-together...yes let's even invite them maybe they can learn a trick or two of the trade or be made a bit jealous that they missed the good ol' daze...

Shall we set a tentative date and see what pleases the masses? Between Mardi Gras and Easter perhaps? Or maybe around Jazz Fest time to get some out-of-towners back home...

Count me in. Blair too. I'd say a Saturday between Mardi Gras and Jazzfest would be fine and wouldn't interfere with those activities.

BW

Actually I meant between Mardi Gras and Easter as originally proposed. Weerdo, pick out a good Saturday and let's see who salutes. Depending on the date we can probably add newbies Kim Stevens (needs to know a date ASAP so he can pencil it in ... he travels a lot between N.O. and Nashville) and Joe Culotta from WTIX's "Let's Talk It Over" so far.

Maybe Kimtoad can talk Skinny into a visit back from Nashville.
Bob Robin from early 60's TIX should be ok for it.
Likewise Cherie Your Oldies Sweetheart.
I think Jeremy will be there.
Bobby Reno is looking forward to it too.
Pal Al will likely be there.

So if this all sticks we should have 10+ at least so far. And of course, radio's Captain Humble will be there.

Hopefully Alan Beebe, Kim Diamond, Doug Christian, Mike McCann, Bo Walker, Tom Courtney and Soxless can join in, along with Jim White and Sambo again and our other in town and out of town attendees from last time, and any new attendees from in, used to be in, or never been in radio. Y'all come.

Here's the pix from last time to refresh your memory of a great time for all:

I will agree to the 15th, the weekend of the 8th I will be in Orlando..the 15th after 11am

I'm good on March 15th...sounds like a good date to me, the weekend before Easter. I'll pass the date along to Kimtoad Stevens and see how his schedule looks.

We might have a helluva time picking a perfect Saturday for everybody, but we'll do the best we can, and those who show will have a great poboy and a great time. Then again, this date might work out for all.

Saturday, March 15th, Noon-3 at Cap's...pass the word. We might even catch a St. Patrick's parade that Sunday!

March 15th? WTF? Not interfering with anything. That's the day before my annually exercise, the St. Patrick's Day parade on Severn & Metairie Road. I'll be in training and won't be able to touch a hot sausage poboy. Any of you old pharts try to stumble 6.5 miles while drinking beer, huh? And, drink for 8 straight hours? And for the record, the Italian-Irish parade is the Sunday after Easter, March 30th. But wait, Cap's got a liquor license, hmmmmm. Nevermind, I'm in.

Yeah baby, I'm up for another gathering but I've learned my lesson from last time...only order a half of one of Cap's Po-Boys. Half is plenty for even a big guy. Also, if someone is a professional (or semi-professional) photographer, please show up and handle the photo duties. You have no idea what it took to corral that many DJ's long enough to snap a photo or two. Oh, one more thing...Fat Man and Blair can't sit anywhere close to eachother or another food fight will likely break out. See you guys in March.

I beg your pardon!

Blair did the throwing... I just ate what didn't hit the floor.

Hey Bo... remember when I was on KOOL and you were on LITE? I would eat a hot sausage po-boy at 6am from the sandwich shop downstairs and around 7:30 pass gas in your studio?

Man, those were the days!

Soxless here, on the banks of beautiful Bull Shoals Lake in north Arkansas. Blair, eat your heart out -- I'm leaving right now to join my Sis for a 3-mile hills walk ... will definitely boogie with your young butt the day after my tummy and tastebuds remind me what a damn fool I was to ever leave Louisiana. (And unlike, Emmy Lou and da Oaks, I didn't do it in the broad daylight.)
Will Kimtoad and Skinny Tom really be there? Ah cain' bu-leeeeeve.

I'm also craving an Eric Tracy "Ripple Rat" pizza! ;D

Would have been nice if this was closer to Mardi Gras...I'll actually be in NOLA that weekend for the first time in many years.

I'll be sure to enjoy a po-boy when I'm in town (extra mynez of course!) and think of the Cap!
