If you own or plan to own water front property,
you will not want to miss this Saturday!

relating specifically to Smith Lake. How far
will they go to take over your personal property...
How can we stop this take over.

Join me and my guest from Alabama Power, and
SLISA.

I can't say I'm not surprised, but I am trying to confirm this...

This has been confirmed by someone who works at Crawford Broadcasting... possibly a flip to an oldies format is what I'm told...

If I'm wrong, then David Billings lied. He has no reason to lie...he's probably ticked just like anyone else and decided to vent on his blog. Oldies would be interesting. I also wonder why Crawford didn't try to put the talk format back on 850 where it started and did pretty well.

I'm actually thinking that this is what's going to happen B5. A move back to 850 for the talk format. We'll see what happens...

If talk does get bounced back to 850, wonder if the WYDE calls will return too?

We'll see...Crawford never has seemed to afraid to change call letters around. My question now is what is going to happen to Legends 1260...that was Burt and Kurt's personal station...will it change too?

93.7 unchanged
850/92.5 - programs in morning, talk in middays and afternoons, southern gospel in the evenings
101.1 - oldies?
1260 - Legends now, what next?

seems that someone at crawford is a little crazy.

if they drop talk to 850 then where is reverend, i mean senator hank going to go? his group pays for 101 already in their "fees" to be on the air.

850 has so little coverage, especially in the northern segment of alabama.

maybe they are gonna make people buy the hd radios and simulcast 850 on the 101.1 (2) signal path!

I would almost suggest black gospel. 'Hallelujah FM' had a sizeable following in spite of Clear Channel pulling the plug on it in Birmingham. And Crawford's no stranger to the format. But Crawford's gospels also have teaching programs, and I don't see them copying CC's mostly music formula.

Oldies? I think the 'oldies' listeners are listening to Classic Rock 99.5 and 106.9 The Eagle (at least SOME of the younger ones). Most of the format's Birmingham audience is probably in the nursing home or gone to glory :-\

If it goes oldies, it won't set the world on fire. But it'll be family-friendly, cheaper to program, and it'd likely continue to be a cheap advertising buy--John Crump Mazda and Southern Eagle Mortgage will be pleased!
