Create-TV

I don't know how many of you watch Create-TV the PBS sub channel on many PBS stations, but I watch a few of their shows. I noticed the other day that all of a sudden the stuff being show didn't match what was on the on-screen guide said nor did it match what was on my local affiliate's website. So I sent an email to WGBY and asked them what was going on and they told me that the Create-TV programming is fed to stations from PBS National in the DC area and is currently messed up due to the severe storms that hit the area the other day. They mentioned Create-TV is currently just showing a 3 hour block of programming on a loop and hope that Create-TV will be back to normal soon.

Create normally shows a 6 hour program block, & repeat that block 4 times a day. At least I knew it was satellite fed to the PBS stations (also available on FTA satellite). Whatever problems they have, I hope they're fixed soon. Create airs on WTTW 11.3 in Chicago.

I also noticed that yesterday. I'm from Iowa and Create airs on IPTV Learns from sign-on at 5am to 5:30pm Monday thru Friday. 'Painting Wild Places' is on right now (Tuesday 7/3, 11:39am)...What show is on the other stations right now?

Create-TV was unavailable for the last 3 days. The fiber connection between Boston (where Create originates from) and the PBS uplink in Alexandria was knocked out due to the severe storms of last weekend. Create was restored to normal status as of 9am EST this morning.

Who knew that inclement weather would create such havoc for Create? :D

Meanwhile, those of us stuck in OPB-land are still waiting "Create" to return to the Vancouver/Portland terrestrial airwaves.........

As the PBS uplink facilities in Virginia was affected by the power outage, were any other PBS or PBS-related services affected?
