Creative Loafing "Best Of" Awards

Congrats to Mara Davis for winning the "Readers Pick" For radio personality of the year in the annual "Best Of"by Creative Loafing. What more can anyone add to this honor.....Mara is a treasure trove of radio delight and much deserving of the award.
Also much deserving of recognition is WRAS, 88.5, the student run station at Georgia State University. They were awarded by both the readers and the critics "Overall Station of the Year." WRAS has been nationally recognized as a cutting edge college operation since it's inception, back in 1971. Yes, sometimes they do test the "extremes".....and for the most part, this is the first time any of them have ever jocked an airshift.....but they are fresh and excited.....not the jaded "up and down the dial" radio types. I'm thankful that we have the "noncomms" and all the "difference" they bring.
Winning "Rock Station of the Year" is Neil Millman's DAVE FM. "Urban Station of the Year" is WVEE. WCLK is "Jazz Station of the Year" and WABE is voted "Best Non Comm of the Year."

With DAVE-FM being rock station of the year, it's obvious that Neil Millman should be PD of the year.

I have a feeling that Randy Kabrich will be posting his congratulations to Neil later today in this thread.

Mara and DAVE number one, once again the voters I polled in Oakland Cemetery have spoken. If the fine folks at CL look, they will see a lot of voters with the name Beauregard, Ambrose, Buell, Eldridge and Winfield. Hey, it’s legal.

Congrats to Mara. What a way to end the year 5769.

It's a well known fact that dead people DO vote.(See:Kennedy-Nixon 1960)
How will PPM affect the "death dither" in your analysis?
How does death affect Q100?

Creative Loafing "Best Of" Awards and the AIR awards are about as impressive as a Bobby Poe award, back in the day. Key word: "almost".
You're wrong about that. Awards may not mean anything from a public perspective but they actually do look good when negotiating a talent's contract and it looks good to buyers when selling the station (although certainly not as good as decent numbers).

That CA award just got more valuable Woodie, but, only because they filed Chapter 11 today.

So which awards, if any, would Chauncey Gardiner deem worthy of mention?
BTW - I Googled "Bobby Poe Award" and got nothing. Who the hockeypuck is Bobby Poe??
