Creature Double Feature

The June '06 Creature Double Feature of "The Giant Gila Monster" and "Godzilla vs. the Smog Monster" will air Saturday at noon on CW56.

I wonder if this is an attempt to gauge interest in continuing the block with the station's new ownership.

It would show some kind of goodwill to the audience if they made "Creature Double Feature" a staple on the Channel 56 schedule. Generally, WHDH (Sunbeam) does not like to dwell on the past accomplishments of Channel 56, and that's a shame. Of course we all grew up watching Channel 56. And "Creature Double Feature" was a highlight of that station's success. Channel 56 should have an identity all it's own. Sure, it's commonly owned by Sunbeam (WHDH-TV, Channel 7). However, as Boston's premier UHF station (licensed since 1953), it should get a better recognition as its' own "brand" rather than just a secondary entity for Channel 7. Maybe, they are doing just that. We shall see. I'll be watching.

I think it is just another "Please love me" ploy from that poor little rich kid, Ernie Boch, Jr. Chico the Lama got more attention from EB the 1st than JB&J did. ::)
