Creepiest KidVid Host(s)?

I don't mean "creepy" as in ghoulish (i.e., horror show hosts) -- I mean "creepy" as in "something about this (these) guy (guys) creeps me out."

Myself, I'd have to vote for Doug and Emmy Jo on New Zoo Revue. They were just so ultra-perfect, always smiling, Stepford-like. I often wondered if they ever blinked.

"Chucko the Birthday Clown" (late 50s early 60s) in LA really creeped me out. Maybe it was just me...Bozo was borderline, as far as I was concerned (apologies to the late Larry Harmon). But Chucko on live LA television frequently showed his impatience with obnoxious kids on air. They were probably little brats, and deserved it, but at the time, I thought it was kind of mean. I was only 6 or 8 years old, after all.

Chucko could have been the inspiration for Krusty on The Simpsons...though I have no idea if he was, or not.

Oddly enough, Chucko's show ran in the early morning on KABC - LA's ABC's local O&O, not on one of LA's 4 indy stations.

Never heard of it, so I checked out your link. Holy crap -- that photo would give any kid nightmares. John Wayne Gacy didn't look that evil in his clown drag.....

I didn't think that Doug and Emmy Jo from New Zoo Revue were creepy looking just because they wore clothes from the 1970's and Emmy Jo wore a mini-skirt and that Doug wore a mustache and wore casual clothes instead of a suit and a tie like Mister Rogers and Captain Kangaroo and besides that they are both married to each other in real life, close to 40 years as a matter of fact.

Three Stooges host "Hoosier Hank" Biedinger of WFBM-TV Indianapolis, circa 1960. Supposed to be a shopkeeper; looked like the BTK Killer. Thank God for Harlow & Curley!

Ruffles the Clown of WTTV Indianpolis, early '60s. Bozo he certainly was not. Scared the living hell out of 5-year-old me. ;D

Janie (also of WTTV) was kinda scary, but in a different way. She came across as a bit "off" (think Mr. Rogers-meets-Shelly Long) but not threatening.

I've heard stories of people thinking Bill Jackson's shows in Chicago (Dirty Dragon, Gigglesnort Hotel) had satanic messages. I still think that's BS.
