criminal minds repeats on A&E censored

I don't know long it's been, but I have just started watching "Criminal Minds" on A&E, and the word b*tch is censored from every episode. I just wonder how A&E can run a series that has serial killers, rapists and terrorists, yet censor words like b*tch, *ss and b*st*rd.

I guess it's all right to kill, rape and maim, just don't use swear words while you do it! ;D

Does ION play the uncensored episodes originally on CBS? ???

Considering it's basic cable, that's quite strange! Deon Cole's Black Box on TBS lets G-D, s--- and bulls--- through all the time. They censor the "n" word and f---, however.

Actually, they're playing "The Fisher King, Part 2", and they left in SOB! Must have let that one slip by! :D

I don't know about this season (because I have yet to watch it since it's move to Monday nights) but, last season during "Longmire", I heard GD said in several episodes, along with SOB, B*****d and S***.

I wonder if it's just the daytime reruns eps (do they run them other times of the day?) that are censored because *gasp* children might come across them. As if parents don't watch these shows in primetime with, or in the presence of, their children. Not every family subscribes to the 7pm bedtime rule for their kids.

And I agree, the content is fine but cursing isn't? Really?

On a related note (censorship), Hallmark Channel is especially bad about audio-drop censoring of mild swearing during re-runs of "Frasier" and "Golden Girls". I realize they're a family-oriented channel, but why even air a show if you think your target audience is easily offended by the content and/or words?

One of more ridiculous instances of censoring I've seen was during a Sunday morning re-run of "Password Plus" on GSN a few years back. GSN dropped the audio when one of the contestants said "oh God" or "God" while trying to come up with the answer. Mind you this wasn't "(audio drop) damn" or anything, since those were usually caught in the original airing of the show and replaced with a "cuckoo" sound.

I believe that edition of "Password Plus" was originally broadcast with "God" censored (NBC broadcast the program originally).

I can accept that. But having watched both Password Plus and Card Sharks over the years, I had never noticed any other audio drops on the word "God" so it was rather jarring when it popped up.

Kitchen Nightmares on Fox has the s--t censored, as per FCC rules. But BBC America's reruns let the s--- word through clearly. Of course they censor F*** but that's normal.

It's strange to me that BET would bleep the N-word. Not an audible bleep, but just no sound.

I looked up "Notorious" after watching it (the listings from my newspaper, all I had at that motel since as far as I know they had no listings channel) said "Soul Plane". And what seemed like it should have been an NC-17 movie just had a lot of uses of the N-word.

I once watched a TV-G-rated TV movie with SOB in it. Of course, on UPN, "Clueless" was TV-G even when the B-word was used. Syndicated reruns of "Roc" were usually TV-G and didn't get a TV-PG unless someone said "orgasm".
