Crossfade - Cold (Hip Hop Remix)

I'd love to know the person who came up with this. I never in my life heard anything worse then this. Taking a huge rock hit and turning it into a bad hip hop song. This has to be one of the worse remixes I have ever heard in my life. Unbelieveable.

Any comments?
______________

Without even hearing it, I don't like it. Just because Jay-Z and Linkin Park pulled it off doesn't mean every rap/rock remix is necessary.
______________

I guess I'll be the first to come to the defense of this. Personally, I really like it. I'm probably in a different situation than some, though.

This is a remix that allows the heavy rhythm-leaners in the CHR world (FLZ, KSLZ, KDWB, KZCH) to bang a song that's probably already a bit familiar, but that now fits their sound. 99% of these do suck, but I don't think this one does.

Not every station in the pop realm can ride the full mainstream line...competition's different everywhere.

I remember hearing a hip-hop remix of "Bring Me to Life" on WFLZ years ago...it was weird to hear, but made total sense in the context of the station/time. It was at night, and I heard that song and "Are You Happy Now?" as the ONLY two songs in 90 minutes that weren't hip-hop/R&B tracks.

Just a thought...

WKSC in Chicago is rhythmic leaning, they play the original.

As for WFLZ, they're not as rhythmic leaning these days. They seem more balenced these days.

It is awful. Unfortunately, KRQQ (Tucson --- CHR/Pop) is playing this hip-hop mix and it made it sound awful. It sounds like a Nickelback song mixed with Jennifer Lopez's "I'm Gonna Be Alright". Awful.

It wasn't really my intention to pigeon-hole every station into that box.

I had no plans to change YOUR opinion, as it's quite strong on this track...just offering mine. In my lurking, it seems as though this crowd is the "damn the hip-hop" crowd, anyway.

I dunno, PJ... I program a rhythmic leaning CHR also and would not go ANYWHERE near this remix. I actually play the acoustic mix here. I dig the beginning, I dig the beat that was used, but I absolutely despise how the finished product sounds...

Just my opinion, though.

Just pointing out a few things I noticed.

I've haven't heard it but I can tell it sounds awful. Why would someone do that? What could be next? 3 Doors Down remixed with 50 Cent? Papa Roach remixed with Ying Yang Twins? A death-metal version of "We Belong Together?" A reggaeton version of "Mr. Brightside?" Jeez, why would they come up with this stuff? Leave the songs alone.
______________
