but someone did say to post it here for an answer... I wasn't registered on that board, so maybe the poster might find this answer here.
best guess, is that since both stations are operated by the same company, there might have been an internal wiring snafu, or a switch thrown somewhere, probably not censoring as much as "stupid operator error"
anyway, it is a funny story.
---------------------
I was listening to 96.1 WLRO sometime after 10pm last night, my radio was on this station when I got into the car, and I was with a friend, so I wasn't really listening to the scrambled radio carefully. The volume wasn't turned up loud enough for me to make out anything that was on. Then we pulled up to a light and I realized that there were two stations bleeding together perfectly. WCDA 106.3 was clearly laid on top of what was supposed to be talk radio. This wouldn't normally require a thread on the topic, but it seemed rather strange, as the content on WLRO that was being covered by WCDA seemed very much like someone speaking freely and passionately about the war on terror. The voice was obviously female, and very aggressive.
Would someone in Lexington fear something was so offensive, or so "wrong" that they would go to the great extents of trying to muffle it out with some random top 40 garbage?
I looked here but was unable to find a weekend schedule, so I'm not sure what it could've been that was being censored (if indeed it was something being censored).
If anyone heard this and has any idea what's up, I'd like to know. And if anyone heard this and was able to make out more of what was said, I would be interested in knowing, or if anyone knows of a Sunday night programming schedule for WLRO, that'd be nice.
Thanks.
