crosswalk radio?

I just caught this. I subscribed to a 30 day trial to Crosswalkplus and decided to continue with it. They are at about 90KB for streaming whereas most CD quality stations are at 128KB instead.

Of the stations that I sampled the CW Oldies station was a real mismatch of classic songs. Think of it being kinda like Jack but much more random. Mix channel was a bit loud. Their inspirational station was ok. I didn't really sample their other stations much at all.

I have found myself much more content with the free stations such as Z-88.3 and Spirit 105.3 instead. You can sign up for a trial yourself and see if you like it or not, but I just was not wowed enough to keep it.

if its 90k thats not good enough. i have live 365 (premium). and i can get the other free net stations.

It may be 96K, but it is definitely no higher than that. I do not know what the industry standard is for CD quality at all.

CD quality is generally accepted to be 128k, although you can achieve comparable (perhaps better?) audio quality with lower bit rates and other audio formats (i.e. 64k MP3 Pro).

I could notice the quality difference between Crosswalk's stream of 90K and other streams such as Z-88.3's 128K stream.

got that z88.3 stream rolling now man that is cd quality!! question? will these new riaa fees shut down z88.3 on the net? and any other 128k stream for that matter?

I hope Z88.3 and RadioY don't get pushed offline. I would certainly think Z Radio could afford at least the $500 flat fee - and I would even be willing to contribute myself, if the streaming fees really hit hard. But really, I hope the copyright regulators will come to their senses, and offer more reasonable rates.

(Seems like Z88.3 does well with their Sharathons generally, even when they asked for money for HD conversion, they got it and then some from what I recall.)
