Crowd reaction on Monday Night Raw in the main event

It marked the first time that I know of that Dave (Batista) and John Cena

competed in a match since they both became champions nearly two years ago at

Wrestlemania 21. I love how the fans just eat up on Cena from the moment

he walked out to wrestle. Dave got a lukewarm welcome the size of Ultimate

Warrior 1996. The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels were definitely the good guys

in this one (Which is what they will be at Wrestlemania on Sunday April 1st)

I also love the reaction the fans gave to Jim Ross following his induction into the

Hall of Fame (Ceremony airs at Midnight/11c on USA Network this Saturday).

Sometimes I wish we still had The Spirit Squad on since most of the heels

except for Edge has the chemistry of a drain pipe. I love Matt Hardy's rib on

Edge. I'm suprised no one else on the cutting edge mentioned on the alleged

steroid use of both him and Randy Orton"roid" GET IT ;D! I hope it isn't true

because the last thing the WWE needs is more bland heels. CM Punk is the

best wrestler in the WWE/ECW period and his hometown crowd in Chicago

let him know it.

OK, I zipped through my DVD recording of this same show myself. Hot Allstate Arena crowd in Rosemont, IL aside, half of the show was still good times to hit the bathroom. I can't see Sunday's pay-per-view live, which sucks. Oh well...now you know. :)

P.S. I won't accept the WWE version of ECW. Sorry.

Before the thread gets locked for excessive non-tv thoughts, I usually watch the WWE the month leading up to the big event "Wrestlemania". One reason I watch is that the vignettes and production work are oft times as good as anything ESPN or the other networks put on...however, last night there were some glaring errors....some key camera shots were missed, bodies in the ring were in the way of the camera....the sound dropped at least twice during promos...the week before, the audio man let slip a JBL (part time wrestler and full time economic guru John Layfields) reference to ones manhood...the four seconds AFTER that was cut, ..but too late.

I'm sure theyll rebound for what looks to be a pretty good show on April First...

And with the show's rating dipping a bit to 3.9 cable rating right before their version of the Super Bowl, that can't be good for the WWE.

...about the only thing the WWE is doing fairly decently nowadays is their "Legends" line of DVDs, although on even that they find some way to screw things up, especially in relation to dates. On their AWA retrospective set, for example, the TV tag team match between Nick Bockwinkel & Ray Stevens and Greg Gagne & Jim Brunzell in which Bobby Heenan became Bockwinkel & Stevens' manager is identified as taking place in 1971, whereas it actually took place in 1974 (Heenan was still managing Blackjack Lanza in '71 and the AWA storyline had Bockwinkel boasting that he didn't need any partner or manager that year, and I even seem to recall Stevens was still tagging with Pat Patterson in San Francisco at that time too). They also claim on the "Stars of the '80s" set that Bob Remus started his Sgt. Slaughter character in the AWA; I distinctly recall he went directly from being the masked Super Destroyer Mark II in the AWA to becoming Sgt. Slaughter in the WWF with no overlap in characters or promotions...
