Crys Quimby

Those of you with long memories will recall Crys Quimby who worked at WCWB-TV and a couple of other stops in middle Georgia. PD at WCBS-AM in NYC, she was canned February 7, along with several other CBS Radio emloyees. Crys had moved to NYC from the left coast and a long stint a KFWB.

Crys worked at WMAZ back in 1981 if I remember well. She had squinted eyes if I remember well.

Your memory is spot on. When Crys told me she was leaving Macon for the left coast, I knew she would do very well. She did, at least until the news business started going to h--- in a hand basket.

All the way to WCBS and nothing is going to stop her from going further even now. She's a combination of knowledge, leadership and (sorely lacking in today's world:) great appreciator and encourager to staff who seldom get anything but negative feedback. Even with family still in Georgia she is happy and happily married in NYC and probably in many many ways, still the genuine person with an ego in check who just happens to like radio and tv and does both very well.
