Crystal bashing

OK, everybody generally admits to bashing the heck out of Clear Channel. Lately I've heard that James Crystal isn't so hot to work for either. True or false and why?

All I know is what Greg Budell said in December 2004 Radio News
under Yes, Greg Budell's Alive And Still Kicking.

They have fired and mis-used some of their best people, though.

Has Crystal sold one of its AM's?

See the thread on the Phoenix board.

Russ Morely might be one reason if he's still PD of any of the Crystal stations. I worked for him a long time ago and let's just say he wasn't easy to work for and that's the nicest way I can say it. Sources tell me that hasn't changed.

Crystal sells off three

According to R&R, they sold off three stations including the one that's probably been providing the best cash flow - WLVJ - their brokered religion station in West Palm. This all fits in with earlier rumors that there have been many layoffs and that many of their vendors and suppliers haven't been paid for a while.

Yea, thanks for sending us Bob Christy. Do you presume he'll be back at WJNA, or similar, or let go?

He's not the PD of any of the stations. He's the morning man on WFTL

He's probably staying with the Phoenix stations and it will be up to the new company whether to keep him or not.

Legally, WLVJ is licensed to Boynton Beach, but the studios are in Fort Lauderdale --at the same location that WFTL, WJNA and WFLL are located.
