First let me say, I have Comcast and DirecTv in my house. We keep Comcast for the triple play and OnDemand is pretty cool especial Preston & Steve OnDemand. I'm from Boston originally so, I have DirecTv for the NFL Sunday Ticket, go Pats!, and I order the MLB on there too because I can just watch the Red Sox pre and post game shows on NESN. We were having a bad storm the other night, cable was out power was flickering and the Sox were over so, I flipped to the game mix channel on DTV and saw that the Phillies game was one of the 8 games on there and it was the CSN-Philly feed. I could watch the Phillies game on CSN-Philly on DirecTv on 1/8 of my screen but, not the full screen. It's not there. It's blacked out. What's the deal with not offering this programming if a person pays so much for the MLB. If I'm outside Philly, I can watch the CSN game on DirecTv but not here? Why don't the Phillies put pressure on Comcast to put CSN on satellite? I know the other 2 Comcast owned teams won't. CSN Philly isn't the only RSN not on satellite. Cox owns a channel that broadcasts the Padres that is only on cable in San Diego.
ALSO, when your entire neighborhood is without power (or even a certian part), so are the Comcast amplifiers in your neighborhood. It doesn't matter that they put a battery in your phone modem. If the amp. doesn't have power, that is a service outage until they can roll a truck with a generator on it. They plug in the amp. to the generator and magically there is no more service outage. Comcast stays there until PSE&G can clear all the trees off their wires and then put wires back up. I know this because power comes into my neighborhood from 2 different directions. My Comcast amplifier is at the end on my street and gets power from a different direction than I do.
