CT Radio Bumper Stickers (was Chris Ryan Back on DRC-FM)

>>No, MarcB, you can't have my WBIS Bumper Sticker.

>I'll give you $100 for it.

I have two different styles of 13-WAVZ bumper stickers from the mid 70s. The station called itself thirteen-waves.

When I grew up in the 60's, it was "Lucky 13 - Colorful AVZ"

I too remember that phrase. The station bought two sets of a PAMS jingles package, with one set for "WAVZ" and the second for "Colorful AVZ".

I also remember "the station with the happy difference" jingles in the early 60s. I guess I'm older. ;D

Got some old WNHC bumpers stickers..the competitor to WAVZ in the late 's and early 70's....Boss Beat 1340 (drake format for Boss Radio)....taking all offers

Yeah ,I have loads of WAVZ bumper stickers also I have loads of their surveys from the 70's right up into KC101 take over. also I have some other CT stations bumper stickers in storage too. but I can't recall what the stations are right now.today I'm still finding WAVZ bumper stickers and surveys in my book collection used as bookmarks.Today at work I had radio On WDRC, Mr Wells is on Vac for the next two weeks.I don't recall who is filling in for him.tomorrow I will pay attention to find out.

I believe Mike Stevens the 7PM-12AM Jock is filling in for Larry Wells. I heard Rockin' Ron on last nite (Monday) and he said he's filling in on the Mike Stevens show, who's filling in for the vacationing Larry Wells.

Does station banners count? I have an old WNTY banner along with my bumper stickers. Cool banner but too big to be a bookmark. ;D

I could've had a banner from WNTY's days as hip-hop formatted Blaze 990, but Charlie Profit and I had gotten into a fight and I was banned from the station. When I was welcomed back he had thrown out the banner. A former radio geek friend of mine also paid Charlie a great deal of money for a 990 The X Banner that was autographed by Laura Ingraham from the brief period WXCT carried that show.

Also I had bought a 990 The X hat in 2004, but after the station was sold and went Spanish that summer I destroyed it. I was the only one who bought a hat. I wore it at the station's Farewell Breakfast in April 2004 and I was annoyed and I think Charlie was annoyed that no one commented about the hat.

The very first radio station I ever worked at, the owners of the station at that time ended their partnership in the form of a fistfight on station property during business hours with people in the building. I only hope at the very least you and Charlie used VERBAL sparring in your acrimony.

I have tons of old bumper stickers, mostly WESU, some WCCC many from the 80's, but what I really wish I knew is where my old Kiss 95.7 t-shirt went to, it was one from the late 80's, all white with the hot-pink and blue logo, hey, for that matter, I have loads of old station t-shirts like one from WBLS NY, 98.7 Kiss-FM NY (believe it or not, I actually wore that one a couple of times when I was at WKSS), a bunch from WESU (of course), WHUS and a bunch of t-shirts the record labels used to send. I miss the old free t-shirts I'd get from the labels.

Back in the early 80's there was guy in my town who had about a 70 Chevelle pasted with the orange PLR bumper stickers. Anywhere their should have been paint was a bumper sticker. He did a real good job with it to. He obviously took some time. He later got bored with it and used Budweiser stickers but I still remember the first time I saw that Chevelle covered in those orange and black PLR stickers. He did a pretty good job of it to.
