CTRC Approves Corus Quebec sales to Cogeco

Yes, with condition of approval:

The Commission imposes conditions of approval on Cogeco

See #90: The Commission finds it appropriate to require, as a condition of approval, that Cogeco file a plan within 60 days following the date of this decision for the implementation and operation of the COGECO Nouvelles agency, as it committed to at the hearing. This condition is set out in the appendix to this decision.

Another condition is that they must sell off two Quebec City stations -- CJEC (which Cogeco already owns) and CFEL (which Cogeco is acquiring from Corus, only to put it back on the block).

As for Cogeco Nouvelles, I don't see it as a problem, as it will effectively be a replacement of Corus Nouvelles, Corus' news service in Quebec.
