CTV News Layoffs

Less than one year after their controversial dismissal of longtime anchor Lisa LaFlamme (despite the fact that her newscast was Canada's most popular network news program) the axe has swung again at CTV News, with major layoffs. Several well-known and well-respected correspondents were among those terminated.

Big names from CTV National News axed amid Bell Media layoffs | Canada .

These high-profile CTV News layoffs were only a small portion of layoffs made by CTV parent Bell Media, in which some 1,300 people were let go (including a number of people at CTV O&O's). In addition, six company owned radio stations were shut down, and three other company owned radio stations put up for sale.
