Cume-Less gets Fox and 94

What happens to WEBN when someone else owns Fox and 96 Rock? The squeeze play will be on and CC won't compete. WEBN needs to re-invent itself to stay THE rock station in town.

How's Cumulus getting around the FCC ownership rules since Bain Capital owns an interest in Cumulus as well as all of CC? Look for either Bonneville or another company to get them.

microbob....Believe it! Cumulus gets them. Bain may own Cumulus Media Partners, but they do not have any interest in Cumulus Media. Get it?

I posted this a few months ago.

Cumulus must be sticking with the current format on 92.5 if Gary Jeff Walker said that. How long will Bob and Tom remain with the station?

I am now confused. The reason CC had to sell 2 stations is because DOJ required them to sell because Cumulus Media LLC operates 3 stations already in the market, and Bain Capital has an interest in Cumulus Media LLC as well as CC. So......, going back to the original question, if Cumulus Media buys the 2 stations, will they be under the same umbrella as WGRR, WRRM and 96 Rock? if so, it seems to not be permitted under the DOJ edict. Can someone please explain all of this?

jcr...Bain has an interest in Cumulus Media Partners, which is private and was created in 2005 to buy the former Susquehanna stations. They have no stake in Cumulus Media which is a publicly held company that's owned radio stations since last decade. Cumulus Media is contracted by Cumulus Media Partners to run those former Susquehanna stations. They're two separate entities. Look for Cumulus Media to be the new owners.

I thought LMA's and other such programming contracts now count towards ownership caps?

Here is the deal...

Cumulus can technically take over operations at the station level..UNDER ONE STIPULATION

They must in 90 days swap or sell the Cincinnati stations as their operations would remain under the same office as Cumulus Partners. So if they take over (which is hard to believe) they will have to swap out two Cincinnati stations in exchange for others.

They could potentially sell those to Wilks, or even swap out in a smaller market(s).

LOL I find it funny that the FCC says this is Cumulus's Entry into this market. I guess that means WGRR, WRRM, WFTK are all under another title in the cumulus family
