CUME-ULESS SAYS TAKE 5 OFF WITHOUT PAY.....

FROM ALL ACCESS:

During today's company wide conference call, CUMULUS announced that it would require all employees to take five days off without pay before the end of Q2. This includes contract employees as well. The economy was sited as the reason for the 5-day furlough.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm sure this doesn't include the executives. The part timer's have been cut back to minimum wage, now this???? Tough times indeed....

Cume-Useless. Take five. Hey, buy a lottery ticket while you're off. We'll replace you with voicetracking from another market. Or maybe the GM will do your show. We sure as hell won't bring in part timers, because at $10 an hour, they cost money.

Any wonder the radio business is circling the drain. Oy gevalt!

Furloughs aren't fun, but it's a step to avoid layoffs...what's worse, 5 days without pay or being one of the 500+ cut from CC?

It's a fair point you make. But in the world of Cumulus, it's not applicable until the Dickey clan further alters its compensation. What's more, Cumulus is using a ploy that's about as effective as a bandaid on patient suffering a 9mm wound at close range. There's more pain coming down in 30 to 60 days. Unfortunately. The hits just keep on comin'! I guess it could be worse. It could be Citadel.

Several states have imposed the same thing on government workers, particularly middle managers. I don't see anyone demanding the governor also take a cut.

In NY, Governor Patterson asked workers to take a cut, while giving his own staff a raise.

I know a lot of people at Sirius who got hit with wage cuts. This week, we learned that Mel took a $4 million hit, but still took home $28 million.

Where's the outrage?

do you think that chuck is getting paid to be on the golf course??????? ;D

Thats right... make the last full-time person take 5 day off unpaid.

Shame on [EDIT]!

This is so passe now. Every company or entity employing people is pulling this card whether they need to or not just to jerk around employees a little more. It is sickning what has happened to the working people of this country.
