A mixed bag. Overall revenue was down, but this would be expected with some of their station divestitures. EBITDA was down, which isn't good, but considering it compared to a time last year when political ad spending was a large factor, it's not a surprise.
Cumulus lacks a proprietary digital platform to both offer an app for listeners to stream its properties and to have another sales channel to offer clients. A lot of their stations are sagging operationally, WJR being a prime example. They'd be prime takeover bait if anyone was interested in acquiring radio, however, no one really is. I guess the company will endure for a long time, with so-so revenue and earnings. If they keep the debt load down enough and the stock price falls enough, I guess they could be taken over then and broken up. The future is anything but bright for Cumulus.
