Cumulus Begins Advertising All News' Drive Time Shows

Cumulus, using its large portfolio of stations here in Atlanta, has started airing show teasers for both Andy & Michelle and Greg & Melissa's news blocks. The ads give a preview of the upcoming show, then ends with a Jim Cutler voice over.

I see this as the start of changes being made by Jennifer Perry, All News' new News/Program Director.

Also...I was listening this morning and it sounds like there has been some added "chit chat" between the anchors and traffic reporters. I know this was one of the complaints from a few people on this board.
Banter between anchors and isn't a bad thing, is it? If it's "on subject" then I see no problem. It may also inject a little warmth into what can/could be a very dry format. For example, listening to KCBS (San Francisco) last time I was there, it did sound a little lifeless. Facts are good. However, facts presented with personality are better.

Currently, I think the warmest show on AN106.7 is the afternoon drive with Melissa and Greg. They have very good chemistry and are fun to listen to. I was listening last week and Melissa was working the board. Twice the sounders did not sound so she hummed the news sounder and Greg kept on going. It was too funny. It just seems they are having a good time and it makes all of those cold facts a little easier to listen to.
