Cumulus Blacksburg

Read this morning where Cumulus has terminated a number of folks from their Blacksburg facility. The report I read said it was the Market Manager and a number of air talents but have heard they also terminated a number of engineers and most of the sellers. Anybody know what happened up there?

Looks like Cumulus is cutting costs in one of their smallest markets. Maybe to put it up for sale, but who's buying? The Wheeler stations out of Roanoke dominate the ratings, even the ones Cumulus subscribed to.

The manager was said to be transferred to another market. It impacted progra director, air talent, sales and even traffic and business office.
 
The sellers should not have a major problem finding work if they survey the area. Problem is most will need to either move or find other avenues for employment. Sad story to hear so many were let go and from what I hear is a pretty good cluster.
