Kinda surprised at the lack of actual substance on this message board... So I'm contributing my first post.

What are your thoughts on the Cumulus / Citadel deal? How will this effect the Citadel stations in Tucson?
 
Maybe I'll chime in-possiblly when Cumulus looks over the Tucson cluster-might take a good hard close look at KIIM country. Is Max starting to lose his "touch" for the amount of money his must be hauling in also what about 97.5 format-is it not getting the numbers it should be? Even though it's jockless,is it billing what the new company wants it to bill? These questions and maybe many more will be answered in the weeks/months ahead.

97.5 has a crappy signal... There's not much overhead in running a station like BOB. Aside from another regional spanish I can't think of what they might want to change it.

As for KIIM... They're running a pretty profitable station over there. I'd be surprised if they changed things up. Not until a direct competitor comes to town...

Speaking of which - when will someone FINALLY properly challenge KIIM's country dominance?

I disagree. "Bob" may well have a crappy format, but the signal is decent and reaches the entire metro area. It is definitely a stronger signal than Mega 106.3, even after the latter supposedly boosted their power before dropping their 104.9 translator. 106.3 still sounds weak in many areas of town, whereas I can get 97.5 from Marana to Vail, Sahuarita to Tanque Verde.

Which signal would you think that would work on around here? One of the Mexican stations could go to try things out, but...

This is a one-station town for that format...this is why nobody has the stones to try and take them on.
