Cumulus Cuts at WPDH and WRRV

WPDH vetrans Tigman and Scotty both got the ax this week and WRRV cut Diane from the morning show. In total 7 people were cut from the payroll.

Yes...Brian Jones!! 16 years he was with them! This is disgusting. I'm sure Chuck has no problem sleeping at night with his pile of money.

These cuts came from corporate not Chuck , but they are another hit against a once great station WPDH . Tigman was a great DJ who knew his music ,and enjoyed it with a bit of an edge . He really enjoyed his work . I worked overnight for years, and we usually listened to WPDH. Most of the jocks were very forgettable but Tigman connected with his audience and was promoted to evenings . I am sorry to see him go , and wish him well. So now what are they going to do run Mr. Auto in the evenings and overnight? To bad.
On WCZX this morning Bob Miller seemed a bit more lost than usual without Brian .

What about the "The Wolf" on WKXP, are they getting rid of Captain Buzz Stevens, Brandy Hunter and the others? Is 94.3 is going to change formats by the year to bring back top 40/CHR they did almost 10 years ago like the good old B94 which WBPM needs to return? Or mayb e if there is room for a greatest hits/oldies format to fill a hole in the Poughkeepsie market such as Scott Shannon's "True Oldies Channel" on 94.3 where they should keep Yankees baseball for next season on an oldies station. Why not bring back Nick Robbins in mornings if they can do it again on 94.3 and later carrying the "True Oldies Channel" on 94.3 and 97.3. They should bring the greatest hits format to the table. Maybe an idea for 94.3 and 97.3 which is going to be call "Sunny 94.3/97.3: Hudson Valley's Greatest Hits of the 60's, 70's and 80's." Are they going to go after 92.9? I don't see it happening.

An analogy

When the doctor tells you you're overweight and better lose some weight fast, it's time to have your legs amputated and make sure the surgeon gets his seven-figure bonus for doing the job on budget without all that expensive and unnecessary anesthesia, sanitation and bandages.

Tigman has been replaced by somebody named Bill Dunn ,at lest for now . Has anyone ever heard of him I haven’t . I listened to him for awhile on Monday night .He talked between the songs about the music , trying to show his knowledge of the songs and the albums they came from .In the time In the time I listened however I heard no local references . Since it wouldn’t save much money to replace one jock with a new one , even if they pay him less I am thinking an out of market voice track . Thoughts? . Did anybody catch the overnight program?

Bill Dunn is "Simon" from WRRV.
I could be wrong, but he's probably voicetracking.
Not sure if its an interim fix or long-term.

Speaking of Cumulus Cuts/changes...looks like at WKXP (the wolf) Brandi Hunter is now middays and an Eric Hopkins is doing AM drive. Also Brandi now does the news on Bob Miller's show on Mix 97 (at least she did on Monday).

"...at WKXP (the wolf) Brandi Hunter is now middays and an Eric Hopkins is doing AM drive. Also Brandi now does the news on Bob Miller's show on Mix 97 (at least she did on Monday). "

AND, besides all of the above, Brandi is doing news in the morning on Eric's (formerly HER) morning drive show on The WOLF, and is also Boris' new morning show sidekick on WRRV.
Of course, she probably got a hefty raise for taking on all these new duties.

That's good! What happened to Captain Buzz Stevens? Is he going back to Tenneesse to do radio? Or is he doing it on weekends?
