Cumulus cuts come to Fayetteville, NC

Haven't seen anything in the Fayetteville Observer but did read about it in R&R online. I have a real bad feeling Wilmington is next. Looks like Q98 & Rock 103 lost evening and mid day folks. Oldies 106.9 lost their morning and midday guys. WFNC only lost a news reporter.

This is a trend that seems to be hitting a number of Cumulus markets. I know of markets, in Texas, Georgia, SC, Alabama, Fl and more that they are cutting staff. It's funny that when the budget axe falls, it only hits programming. I have yet to see sales get wacked!

As far as Wilmington goes, at last count they were one of the few markets in the Cumulus company that was making money; course Montgomery, Alabama was one too! ???

Good Luck to those that have been displaced. I've been there (and yes it was a Cumulus budget cut) it will be better.
