Cumulus Cuts Hit Huntsville

From Radio-Info:

In Huntsville, Alabama, Radio-Info confirms that WWFF-FM (93.3) morning show host Todd Baker and morning producer Tim Michaels were let go, along with evening DJ/MD Derrick Hayes of sister-station WZYP-FM (104.3).

Its things like this that disappoints me about the Business.

Yes I know its part of it Derrick is a good friend of mine and I'm sure he will find another gig.

Good Luck to everyone in this rough time

Cumulus is not the kind of company you want to bet your career on.
Cumulus is not the kind of company you want to work for and buy a home.
Cumulus is not the kind of company you want to work for and have a family.
Cumulus is not the kind of company you want to work for and have a stable life.
Cumulus is not the kind of company you want to work for period.

What he said.

As a former Cumulus PD, I know that this tme of year the budget axe comes down. I worked in a cluster where in 18 months we went through 3 market managers! I always found it odd that the budget axe fell more on programming than sales, who more often then not hardly EVER reached Cumulus' high sales goals!

Cumulus always preached that they wanted this to be that last radio company you worked for....they also claim to be the best run radio company in America ???.

The best of luck to all those folks "on the beach" my thoughts and prayers are with you!

I noticed that Dereck was gone on WZYP from 7pm to midnight because they didn't do the out of line top 5 at 9 countdown. I wonder if they will solve the issue by plugging in Billy Bush's evening program?
