Kidd Chris on Project 96.1 plays music in the mornings and they seem to be building a following, so it's certainly not impossible, is it?
John Boy and Billy is another morning show that plays some music.

Hey, I'm a moderate Journey fan, but c'mon.........a bunch of love songs. Not sure I would even classify this music as rock. I'll assume Steve grew up during the 80s or 90s and really has no clue what rock really is. Frankly, I can't believe the others on the show even let him get away with saying it.....

Hey, I'm a moderate Journey fan, but c'mon.........a bunch of love songs. Not sure I would even classify this music as rock. I'll assume Steve grew up during the 80s or 90s and really has no clue what rock really is. Frankly, I can't believe the others on the show even let him get away with saying it.....
i agree with you about journey.i call them a rock group because its the easiest way to classify them.
however its just an opinion.i can`t see getting rid of any show for an opinion like that.even if it is way off base.
If you think for one minute that the CC brass added music to the show because SS Steve likes Journey, you're....missing the point.
There's clearly something concerning going on. Larry was able to get them to reverse their decision, which is good. I'd recommend for Larry this: a total, top to bottom, hard-ass review of what you're doing, daily. Ditch what doesn't work. The show has its moments but it isn't what it used to be. Things are slacking. About 1 in three segments are worth a damn, the other 2 are throwaway.
This has NOTHING to do with "Journey"--literally, the show is in jeopardy.
If I was the PD, and thank God I'm not, (but I HAVE been, in two top 10 markets outside Atlanta)--I'd say: restore Steve's role. The old role, what used to make people laugh. Lose the fluff, including the people who are filling for Steve's old role: Sebas, Bucci, all of them. They're not as entertaining as Steve, the way you guys bang on him. Bag the BS segments like George Stein, Oxygen, Miked up. Shoot Vinnie Bucci in the head already--please.... all this is about as entertaining as a heart attack. Tighten Eric's segments up, even if he's not happy with it. Sorry, Eric. More from Tim, voice wise and pre-produced stuff.

One day last week 1 of the characters sang along to [in its entirety] that Styx masterpiece [joking] Robotic or whatever. What's worse, highlighting the worst of Styx, crowning Journey the #1 Rock band in the world, or hearing Steve say C'Mon? Weird stuff. But certainly more capable than Chuck & Turnoff.
