Maybe some fool with more dollars than sense will buy them and make them CLASSIC COUNTRY or OLDIES! hahahahahahahahaha! There are those on here who say it can be done, maybe he should put his money where his mouth is!?

More likely me thinks more christian music is coming to Lousyville!

Maybe, 104.5 and 93.9 should go dark in old Naptown.

93.9, maybe. 104.5, are you kidding? WJJK has consistently been a top 5 25-54 station over the past couple years, and I wouldn't be surprised it they hit #1 or 2 when PPM numbers start coming down. Ownership may change hands, but I don't see this property going dark anytime soon. Again, 93.9, that's another story. That frequency's just bad news...

Didn't they turn off 93.9 in Louisville to make way for I94's upgrade to B1? And new COL, Lawrence?

No, to make the upgrade to 93.9 in Noblesville/Fishers/Lawrence the Seymour station at 93.7 was downgraded once or twice and then eventually relocated to Sellersburg at 93.9.

I can hear it now -

"WOAS 1430 AM - Call the Russ-Line to request your favorite Classic Country Oldie!"

goes to show they were incompetent in running 93.7 and moving it didn't help things one bit.

My beloved WQKC/Seymour site (which I built from the ground up in the Spring of 1992) was downgraded once from 25KW/700' Non directional to 25KW/700' Directional with the null toward 93.9 in Indy. The next downgrade happened when it was shut off & moved to Louisville...pardon me, I meant Sellersburg.

93.7 had survived for decades in Seymour. In that community, The Duck,
WQCK was the King. I've seen this same story played out over and over
again. Someone thinks if they can move a small town station to a big
community they will make more money. However, in the big city, the
existing stations are already eating all the crumbs off the table.

Sometimes it's better to to be the King fish in a smaller fishbowl than
to be a small fish swimming with the sharks in an ocean.

Today, WHUM is on the only FM signal licensed to Seymour. WHUM's
100 watts transmitting from the Seymour Chamber Of Commerce is
no replacement for the Class B that was taken from Jackson County.

If i had the money, I'd buy 93.9 in Louisville and Indy and shut em both off.

Having worked at WJCD Fm I have to say it was a waste of space but the upgrade and programming was much better when Blair ran the place. How could this help 93.9 in any way?

funny how people think shutting down 93.9 in louisville will help with the upgrade for 93.9 Indy. Whats delaying the Indy Upgrade is the Ma and pop relgious station in terre haute refusing to move to 93.7 to clear way for the upgrade of 93.9 indy. i guess They want money from cumulus to move and Cloudy is refusing to pay up for said move of one dial click

The really funny thing about all of this is that, once Cumulus took control of the Indianapolis Susquehanna cluster, 93.9 in Indy hasn't been worth a damn either [which makes this Louisville situation even more damning]. There's been so much money spent upgrading that signal for Indianapolis, yet no programming that's amounted to anything. The current I-94 produce barely generates a 1.0 share in some demo's but mostly has no marketable audience. So, on top of all the money Cumulus has lost in Louisville poorly operating the AM/FM combo, they're losing more with all the money that's been pouring into the 93.9 property in Indy - which is still bleeding - that they were making room for.

Mike's correct - there's nothing further to be gained from Louisville going dark. Susquehanna gained all they could for the Indy 93.9 signal already from the original purchase of this AM/FM and the changes they made down south.

I would be interested in any additional information verifying Chris Wheat's departure from Shadeland, if in fact that's true.
