Cumulus has removed 4 talent in the Little Rock Area

https://www.arkansasbusiness.com/ar...layoffs-claim-4-central-arkansas-radio-voices

Four radio personalities in Cumulus Media Inc.’s Little Rock operation have been laid off, including KURB 98.5 morning co-host Robyn Cisar and several stalwarts in KARN’s newsroom.

All four broadcasters have confirmed the job losses in media posts, and a worker who answered the phones at KARN on Monday confirmed some layoffs but referred a reporter to Keith Liesmann, the Cumulus vice president and market manager for Little Rock.

Liesmann didn’t respond to a message seeking comment. Along with Cisar, who was part of B98’s Kevin and Robyn show with Kevin Idol, others put out of work were news and traffic anchor Chris Ingram, anchor and reporter Heidi Sohl, and traffic reporter Chris Counts.

THere are reports of Layoffs coming to Cumulus in this article.

As the iHeart bloodletting was going down last week, I had heard Cumulus has been quietly setting up regional hubs similar to iHeart's strategy.

I haven't been able to verify this with any of the friends I still have at the Cumulus cluster where I once worked, but the person who told me that said there would be a wave of layoffs, but nowhere near as severe as the ones at iHeart.

The cluster where I used to work once had six full time newspeople as well as most part-timers being trained in news to help with breaking news coverage as well as weekend news. For about the last 10 years, it's had one newsperson for all six stations. I always suspected that position could be phased out pretty easily. With a partnership with a local TV station (which I'm pretty sure it already has), somebody 100+ miles away could easily rip and read the news. They could use the soundbites from the TV station's interviews for non rip and read content.
