Cumulus hit with Furloughs and Layoffs

Yes like other outlets it's to respond to COVID-19.

However, they're trying to keep everyone on staff with furloughs. But they're saying 80% of their staff will furloughed for 90 days, which basically means most of the stations will be automated for 3 months starting next week. The costs of all this will last into the third quarter.

According to the article, "Under the plan, over 80% of salaried employees will be taking three individual weeks of furlough (no work, no pay). The three weeks will be taken in one week installments over a 15-week period beginning April 20th.:
