It's a link to Wrong Way Lieberman's blog. I'm not even going to bother looking at it.

OK..well how about this:

You've just given links to THE EXACT SAME ARTICLE in two different places. This is hardly vetting a story. In fact, you're perpetuating the biggest crime of the Internet. Okay, I've done a Google news search on the terms "Les Moonves", and "CBS Radio" and everything I came up with referred back to the NY Post article.

It is DOUBTFUL that the NY Post has a scoop on such a story. I'd say that if it were really true all the major media would be all over this story especially because of consolidation worries. It's more than likely a plant by someone connected with CBS or with Cumulus (or who holds stock in one or the other) who is trying to stir things up and maybe make it happen or perhaps drive up the stock of one or the other company.

You're really Wrong-Way Lieberman aren't you?

Jerry Del Colliano, who used to publish Inside Radio, has been saying this since last summer. Not holding my breath...

This is why I posted this. I know of someone who knows Jerry Del Colliano, and they tell me he quite a track record of being right about these things due to the network of "insiders" he knows. I hope it does not happen, and this time Mr. C is wrong.

Let's set sources aside and deal with this on a single question basis.

The suggestion: Cumulus may buy CBS radio.

The question: Using what for money?

As mentioned on the NYC board -- CBS has allegedly been wanting out of some of the smaller markets (for them) they don't have any TV stations in, so I could see them selling those, but the larger markets like San Francisco are unlikely.
