Cumulus News

From R&R:

Cumulus Media Names Andy Rosen SVP

The radio veteran joins Cumulus Media for a newly created position in which he'll oversee the eight markets Cumulus recently agreed to obtain via a merger with Susquehanna Radio. The $1.2 billion deal, which still awaits FCC approval, includes stations in San Francisco, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Kansas City and Indianapolis, in addition to Susquehanna's home market of York, PA. Rosen will be based at Cumulus' corporate office in Atlanta, and reports to EVP/COO Jon Pinch.

Rosen most recently served nine years as Clear Channel/New York RVP/Market Manager, overseeing CC's New York City stations, as well as several markets in New York and Connecticut. "I am thrilled to have Andy on our team," Pinch said. "He has a reputation for developing high performance, customer-focused sales organizations and his operating strategies are well matched with those of Cumulus."

Rosen added, "The Susquehanna properties have a 64-year tradition of outstanding service to their local communities. I am honored to be working with the highly talented people who have helped to build these great brands. By adding the vast resources of Cumulus to the strong foundation already in place, I am confident we will evolve and create and even greater value for out listeners, advertisers, employees and investors."

You're right -- I neglected to mention KSAN along with KTCT as not being listed as being granted.

However, in this morning's FCC Daily Digest (dated March 9), both KTCT and KSAN -- plus Pleasanton booster KSAN-FM1 -- show as having been approved for transfer on March 3.

With that, the FCC has given its blessing and KNBR, KTCT, KFOG and KSAN belong to Cumulus. Now they just have to figure out when to pick up the keys.
