Cumulus Rumors

There is talk of Cumulus buying some of the CBS stations. Since Las Vegas is one of the few markets Cumulus doesn't own any stations in I would guess this could be a cluster they would buy. For the sake of the CBS/LV staff hopefully the rumors are false.

Pray that this does not happen! Talk about a company that would ruin great radio stations. Get ready for the Billy Bush night show on KLUC and whatever other syndicated nonsense they'd pipe in. The CBS/Vegas stations hold a lot of great talent, this would be a sad sad move.

Given the fact that long time talk stations like SF's KGO are being flipped to all news, anything can happen. I think Vegas will end up with some sort of regional western states feed of music programming and syndicated news talk crap.

There is no "some of the" when it comes to buying CBS/Las Vegas. CBS will sell the cluster all-or-nothing.

I meant some of the CBS stations nationally. Cumulus can't buy anything in markets where they are already maxed out.

The Cumulous takeover of Citadel's KKOH in Reno has resulted in the layoff of a mainstay local show host. Bill Manders was let go last month. His 3 hour daily replacement in the afternoon is longtime KKOH Program Director Dan Mason. Any word on Manders' doings lately?
