So cumulus is coming to town, and most likely making the formats of townsquares stations sound generic and blah like the rest of the country. Any speculation on format changes? people leaving or coming in?

If I'm not mistaken, there are no Townsquare Media stations in Champaign, and I highly doubt Saga will be selling their cluster off anytime soon.

The news release from Cumulus that I saw only included the Bloomington/Normal and Peoria markets.

Fully expect the GM's to get blown out within the year, as will the PD's. Get your resume dusted off ladies and gentlemen.

Cumulus is now running without Market Managers in Lafayette, Louisiana, Lexington, Ky and Indianapolis. It will continue. Horrible company to work for. The only people they don't hold accountable are the ones in the mirror.

John and Lew Dickey should be ashamed of themselves. To think they can run radio stations all out of Atlanta is absurd. But, they'll step over a dollar if they can pick up a dime.

I also noticed that Peoria has no Adult Top 40 outlet. I wouldn't be surprised if Cumulus flip one of the Peoria FMs, and since Rhythmic Top 40 WZPW is a the dominant one in the cluster they're safe. The same with Active Rock WIXO. However, Classic Rock WGLO, and Country WFYR could be candidates since they are already competing in a crowded field of Country and Classic Rock/Hits in the Peoria radio market.

Speaking of these stations, any idea what will happen to the streaming apps? The Peoria stations are on both Radio Pup and IHeart. Is Cumulus going to launch a single website design for all there stations with a new listen live player? The Citadel stations are still using the old player and the Cumulus stations that weren't part of Citadel link to a different player. However, I just looked at WZPW and the listen live link points to the basic STW player. Going to turn this station off now.

iHeartRadio is the exclusive provider of the Cumulus stations' mobile streaming, though some have their own apps. Those that have their own apps are supposed to be keeping them, and others may have apps of their own in the future.

I'm not sure what the plan is there. While they make look different, the back end of the streaming at Cumulus comes from the same place. Triton Digital and Stream the World are the same company, and Cumulus switched all their stations to Triton/STW about 6 months ago. The ex-Citadel stations were already on Triton/STW. A few years ago, Cumulus streaming was done in-house. I'm not sure if there was any provider in-between the in-house operation and Triton.

Has it really been 6 months? I guess it has. I discovered that they had switched in early June. Yes, I know about that, but shouldn't those stations be taken off of Radio Pup? It would make sense that they come out with a single design or player, that doesn't really make much sense to me. Although I guess Bicoastal Media is even worse, seems like every station puts out there own thing and some don't stream while others do, and KMNT uses a different provider than there Eugene stations. I actually hope they convert all the stations to the Citadel player, I really like seeing the playlist history right there.
