Cumulus: The Flips Begin!

So, I am sure all of you read that Cumulus flipped two stations in very small markets, one a country station, another and ac, to the new format, Journey.
It is classic hits from the 80's and 90's. Anyone think KABC or KLOS will be flipped to this format. Cumulus loves change... so they say!

I highly doubt KABC would do this. Excluding simulcasts, I can't remember the last time a corporation flipped an AM station to music in Los Angeles. Who wants to listen to pop/rock hits in mono? This would have been feasible before 1985, but not anymore.

Is the deal official?

It's like a house... can't move in till escrow closes. But Dickey is saying "by the end of the year."

I wonder which year...

That's what I was wondering. Some people on this board are talking as if the deal is already complete.

I have heard a mention of "mid September"...from several Citadel employees:
everything else points to much later

Considering the government just approved the deal, as noted in the headlines on this very board, I would say it is a done deal. Some on this board have suggested it may not happen this year or at all. There is no way the Dickey's are not going through with it. Hearing it will start in mid- September and will be DONE by the end of the year. Feel bad for the folks on La Cienega cause I am sure it will not take very long, like maybe October, for Cumulus to start dumping people. I am sure most of them have been job hunting for months, hopefully many of them have already gotten out of KLOS and KABC and landed new work-- cause when the Dickey's come to town, watch out and that is any town!

tweet from barrettLARadio:
>>KLOS and KABC staffers are gathered for a mandatory meeting going on right now. More shall be revealed on Cumulous takeover of Citadel
