Cumulus to drop ESPN in 47 markets.

??? 1440 to CBS Sports.

1350 could have an opening to dump inferior Yahoo Sports and take ESPN back. ESPN gains a signal that can actually be heard in many areas of Central Pa.

Ooops I did not mean to say that 1440 is definitely going to CBS Sports, however, it would not suprprise me to see this happen.

It remains to be seen how good/bad the new CBS product is, however, Central Pa. seems to like what it knows (not exactly a hot bed of innovation and creativiy..force of habit is a way of life). So, if 1440 switches WOYK would come out ahead by getting rid of Yahoo. In my humble opinion Yahoo will be a dead duck in radio within a year.

It appears this morning as I went to 95.3 to listen to "Mike & Mike" after work, that ESPN has now been dropped. The show was some sort of CBS Sports Radio show, although on their website's front page it simply says "Sports Radio 95.3 and 1400"..

I was never a big fan of ESPN Radio. Their shows, especially Mike & Mike, are about 5 minutes content, 10 minutes commercials, 5 minutes scores in an unending rotation. It's very hard to listen to.

Or they could switch to Fox Sports Radio. If you recall, ESPN purposely dropped 1350 to be put on an inferior signal, which never made sense. If I'm at 1350, I might think twice about getting in bed with these guys again.

Jim Rome moving to CBS Sports may have some stations considering a move; just a thought, nothing to back that up. I know that Rome has a bit of a following.

;D Well, ESPN has left the building and CBS Sports Radio is now entrenched in Central Pa. It will be extremely interesting to see how this plays out with 1350 still featuring an inferior product, Yahoo Sportsradio.

I listened briefly to CBS today and I am not impressed...Feinstein is a great writer...as far as radio is concerned he still needs quite bit of work to be in AM Drive.

Rome...3 mintes of his shtick was enough for me.

Doug Gottlieb is still wearing his ego on his lapel.

CBS is a work in progress...with 1440's signal not too many listeners will notice, however 1400 is also on board with CBS.
I wonder what OYK's contractual obligations are with Yahoo.

OYK was shunned by ESPN. I doubt they'd have any interest in getting in bed with them again.
