It looks like the mentality of reporting station adds has promted Cumulus to announce today(January 23rd) that after January 31st they will no longer make their playlist adds available to music trades, according All Access.

Followed shortly thereafter by being cut off from music service by the labels, no doubt.<P ID="signature">______________

This is one instance where a huge corporation might come in handy. I doubt they would cut record service to all stations.
Besides, if only one station gets hold of a song, they can send it out to all their other stations with the click or two of a mouse via corporate lan.
It's going to be interesting to see how they plan to do this, since the move won't affect Billboard Radio Monitor because the Cumulus stations are monitored 24/7 by Nielsen/BDS and the playlists are based on spins.

Nearly all interesting stations are monitored by BDS or Mediabase or both. The record companies get most of thier data from these, so there is no need for "reportin" which affects the tip sheets more than anything else.

As such, the company saves money on correspondence/fax/mailing costs and frees up time toward more productive work. Now what are the interns going to do? LOL
